Parent Leadership Hub Weekly E-Newsletter for June 4,2009
The attached "Parent Leadership Hub" Weekly Email Update is sent to you from WSPEI and WI FACETS. The Parent Leadership Hub supports parents/family members, educators and other community partners to build capacity regarding meaningful family involvement. The Hub serves three primary purposes:
(1) To support parents of children with disabilities between birth and 26 years of age to participate as partners in the professional development activities of each of the other Statewide Initiatives as they design, deliver and support professional development experiences; and
(2) To facilitate opportunities for parents/family members to build leadership skills; and
(3) To provide Content Focused technical assistance concerning family involvement.

- Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports in Green Bay
Christine Kleiman will present the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) framework for behavioral expectations of a school building. The framework builds capacity of schools, families and communities to promote social and academic success of all students, including those with emotional/behavioral and other disabilities. - Special Needs Trusts Seminar
June 6, 2009 8:30 am -12:00 pm at 212 River Dr, Rm 5, Wausau (north of Burns VFW Post) Presenter will be Attorney Andrew Schmidt who has set up Supplemental Needs Trusts for years helping citizens of Central Wisconsin protect their assets for themselves and their heirs. This seminar is intended for families of children or adults who are disabled and are likely to need professional management of an inheritance, gift, or settlement. If you are the parent or grandparent of a person who has a disability and you desire to protect that person from losing their inheritance, settlement, gifts, or distributions because they receive federal disability benefits then attendance at this seminar is critical.
